Garwin Modern Homemakers

November 29, 2013
Northern-Sun Print
Thirteen members met at the home of Judy Beane on a very nice November day. President Kathy Thurston opened the meeting with a reading, “I’m thankful for the things I do not have.” Minutes of the October meeting were read and approved. No old business. New business was the plans for our December-Christmas meeting. Pat Ambler and Shirley Lewis planned for us to go to the Magnolia in Toledo for lunch at 1:00p.m. Darlene Bovenmyer had roll call. From the column called “Kennections” written by Ken Jennings, she gave us 5 trivia questions and ask what was the connection to all the answers. Then she had pictures of 7 candy bars cut in half and asked if we could identify them. Then she asked, What was our favorite candy bar? Kathy passed around a sign-up sheet for next years programs. Then turned the program over to Joan Bacon. She had us play bingo. The prizes were Christmas ornaments. Each lady got one. Judy served a delicious luncheon of pumpkin pie with whipped topping, dried apple slices, nuts, candies for Russia, spiced tea and flavored coffee. December meetings, Hostess’s and Program will be Pat Ambler and Shirley Lewis and Roll Call -Judy Beane.
