Wolfcreek Whirlwinds 4-H Club Grain Donation Fundraiser
October 25, 2013
The Wolfcreek Whirlwinds 4-H Club is doing a fundraiser this fall and we are asking for the help of local farmers in doing this. Our club and its members recognize the importance of agriculture and the local farmers to the local economy. This year the kids want to learn more about how to market grain and where the grain goes after the farmers sell it. In an effort to teach them more about how to market grain and to raise money for our club we are taking donations of grain at Mid Iowa Cooperative. This fall while unloading grain, if you would like to make a tax deductible donation to our club, just let Deb in the office know and she can put it into our club’s name. Any donation size is appreciated, no amount of grain is too small. We hope that by doing this fundraiser we are able to learn more about how to sell grain and how Iowa’s grain is used locally and internationally. The money raised from the fundraiser will be used to purchase supplies needed for workshops, county fair, winter carnival and other club activities. In addition, we hope to raise enough money to donate to the fire department for the new fire station and maybe even to other organizations in the community. The money raised will allow us to run the club for a year, but more importantly we will be learning more about grain and grain marketing, and teaching the kids just how important agriculture is to our local economy here in Gladbrook. Thank you in advance to those who will donate to our cause, we appreciate our local community and its generosity.
