The Gladbrook American Legion Auxiliary served the Senior Citizens Dinner on Fri., Oct. 11th, at the Memorial Building. The tables were decorated in a Halloween theme with everyone receiving a very cute and colorful magnetic owl for a favor. They were made by Rev. Barb Muhs. President Jeanne Paustian welcomed everyone to the dinner and Sue Koster gave a prayer. After a pork loin dinner, the group enjoyed singing “Halloween” carols to Christmas music. Sue read several poems about trick or treating, ghosts, goblins, witches, etc. The group passed gourds around the table while music was played and the five that held the gourds when the music stopped received a coupon for a free cup of coffee at Serendipity by deb.The lucky winners were Herman Lucht, Doris Tessau, Bernie Puls, Vera Arp, and Pete Edwards. We want to thank Deb for her donation. The lucky door prize winners were Ethel Lucht and Mildred Pieper. They each won a witch. Everyone enjoyed singing Happy Anniversary to Eldon & Dorothy Wiese in honor of their 61st anniversary and Happy Birthday to Bernie Puls. Serving the meal was Jeanne Paustian, Marcy Knaack, Katy Grimmius, Jolene Denbow, and Sue Koster.
