Monday morning, March 4, 2013, Tama County Supervisors Larry Vest and Kendall Jordan met with County Engineer Lyle Brehm, Supervisor Dan Anderson being absent, for continuation of the Public Hearing held February 25th for the road vacation of an undefined portion of 320th Street between W Avenue and X Avenue. The road lies in Sectdions 26 and 27 of York Township. At that time land owners were in favor of closing a portion of the road but were concerned as to how much of the road should be vacated. There were no other objections received. Therefore the decision was tabled for one week. Today the vacation of 320th Street from sixty rods east of theWest line of Section 26 in York Township (the property line between Donna Forrester and Richard Suchy), to one thousand feet east of the southwest corner of the southeast one quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 26 was ordered vacated and closed. This road vacation is not intended to remove easements for utilities. Susan Jones, Insurance Administrator for Tama County asked the Board of Supervisors to approve entering into an agreement with Bernie Lowe and Associates for a predictive modeling report to help TamaCounty comply with the new Healthcare Reform Act at a cost of $500.00. Windstream was granted a utility permit for work in Carlton Township. Bob Etzel, Tama County Conservation Director, was present to ask Tama County Supervisors to approve a deposit to the LAD (Land Acquisition Development) Account. These funds are from two Fish Habitat Stamp Grants received as reimbursement for the expenditures for the pond project last summer which amounted to $77,332.00. Claims approved for the past week came to $101,802.44.
