Community Service By Eric Lada Attention GMG parents the time is coming! If your kid is in the grades 9-12, they will have to have 20 community service hours by the time they graduate. If they do not have enough community service hours, they will not be able to graduate. Have them get out there and help people out. Your child may get a community sheet from either Mrs. Boerm or Mr.Reed. Have Fun and get ‘err done!!

GMG Apparel for Christmas by: Justice Dannen If you GMG parents are looking for a great Christmas present for your kids, then our GMG apparel is for you. You may go to our online store at www.garwin.k12.ia.us under the tab labeled Custom Wolverine Apparel and on the home page below the photos of the schools. You may customize your colors of sweatshirts, t-shirts, sweatpants, shorts, jackets, and much more! All the profits will go to Partners in Education to support our efforts at GMG Elementary. Your kids will definitely love one of these items!

GMG School Play By: Justin Welton GMG will be hosting its own school play this weekend. It will be held at the old high school gym in Garwin. The story is called Ten Little Chipmunks. The play will be held November 2nd and 3rd both at 7:00 p.m. It is sure to be a fun filled night. Make sure you invite your friends!

ACTS By:Kohleah Harris The December ACT test date is Saturday, December 8. The registration deadlines are as fallows: REGULAR - November 2 and LATE WINDOW - November 3 to 16. The February test date is Saturday, February 9. The registration deadlines are as follows: REGULAR - January 11 and LATE WINDOW - January 12-18. The basic testing fee for the ACT test without writing is $35.00. The basic testing fee for the ACT test with writing is $50.50. The GMG High School Code is 161-720. Students must register online at www.actstudent.org All ACT test dates and registration deadlines for 2012-13 are on the school calendar.

All-State Auditions Brandon Ferris Dillon Slingluff and Sara Hinson tried out at the All-State Auditions, unfortunately, they did not make it. However, everyone at GMG is very proud of them. Their music instructor Sheryl Mullikin is extremely proud of them also. Sara and Dillon are outstanding vocalists, and these two musicians are exceptionally talented. We are looking forward to their leadership in both vocal and instrumental music this year!

GMG Lost Their Last Game to Gladbrook-Reinbeck By: Grant Day The Wolverines lost their last game to GR on October 19, 2012. GMG’s two scorers were Senior Blake Warren, scoring a touching, and Junior Austin Vaughn, scoring an extra point. GR’s lead scorers were Juniors Chase Clark, scoring 24, and Dustin Dinsdale, scoring 22. The final score of the game was GMG-7 and GR-55. GMG finishes its season 1 and 8.

GMG Awards Banquet By Gage Fraser On Tuesday, October 30, GMG High School had their fall sports awards banquet. The banquet was held in the high school gym in Garwin. Awards were given out to the following sports: baseball, softball, football, volleyball, cross country, and football cheer leading. The dinner started at 6:30 and the awards started 7:00.
