Garwin Library News

August 27, 2012
Northern-Sun Print
On August 7 the Garwin Library was very busy as Ms. Amy taught a class of various ages to “Learn as you Play”. There were several crafts, story time, and exercise to music. The kids were all great and enjoyed it very much. Helpers were Megan Slingluff, Noah Hass, Gail Hass, and Luke Wrage. With our new computers up and running it has been a busy summer. Our bake sales are done for the summer, but we will continue to have fundraisers inside come cold weather. Luke wants a soup cook-off and Jill thought a candy sale come December. I would like to thank all the ladies who have baked for the library. I was able to purchase many books and some movies. A library is the heart of the community and we have several new families sign-up for library cards. I enjoy meeting the new patrons as well as all my regulars. I had never in my life read any war time books, but when Barry told me I had to read the new “In Harm’s Way” I did. I wanted to shut my eyes and ears at times but still couldn’t put it down. You may want to give it a try. I want to thank Ethan Karsjen for his donation of Marvel Adventure Books and the complete set of Captain Underpants. Stop in and see all the changes. I can never thank the people of Garwin enough for making all this happen. Library Director Lola Slingluff
