Gladbrook Women’s Club

February 21, 2019
Northern-Sun Print
Fourteen members met at Spanky’s for the February meeting. Vivian called the meeting to order at 1:30 pm. Roll call was read as well as the minutes. The minutes were approved as read. June gave the treasurer’s report. A thank you was read from the Tama County Food Pantry, Rev. Barb Muhs. Shirley thanked everyone for the cards she had received following her foot surgery and Vivian informed everyone of Barb Luethje’s Brother Tom passing way and encouraged everyone to remember her. Vivian updated the Holiday Happenings clean-up duties and passed the sheet around so everyone could review it. Vivian updated us on the Spring Luncheon fundraiser and said the date had been changed from March 31st to April 7th. The luncheon isn’t only for women, men are invited too. Posters were distributed to members to take to various locations. A signup sheet was passed for tables and salads. The Women’s Club voted to donated to the Education Project the same as last year. Hospice cookies for March will be Kristi, JoAnne and Karen H. The March meeting will be held at Spankys and the hostesses are Carolyn G, Karen L, Rhonda and Sandy. The program will be by Linda Wiges of Traer, author of 4 books. Pat Clausen said JoAnn Ruopp will be showing old movies at the theater, hopefully once a month on Thursday night. Admission is $10 for 2 for the movie and a medium combo. Pauline read birthdays and anniversaries. For the program B J asked members to bring items that their children may question ‘why did you keep this?’ It was very interesting to see what members kept and some were questioned ‘why?’ A delicious lunch with a Valentines theme was served by the hostesses, Shirley, Pat, B J and Kristi.
