Gary Billerbeck, 76, Dysart, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018, at his home. Visitation will be held Friday, August 10, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Overton Funeral Home, 707 Clark Street, Dysart. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 11, 2018, 10:30 a.m. at the Dysart United Methodist Church. Military Rites will be conducted by the Dysart American Legion. Burial will be in the Dysart Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Care Initiatives. Condolences may be left at the website: www.overtonfuneralhomes.com. Gary William Billerbeck was born on August 26, 1941, in Grundy Center, the son of Leonard and Helen (Paustian) Billerbeck. Gary graduated from Gladbrook High School in 1959. He then served his county in the United States Army for three years. While in the Army, Gary was stationed in Germany for two years. On April 4, 1964, he was united in marriage to Pat Fish at Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook. Gary worked as a machinist for John Deere for 35 years until his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed camping, fishing, puzzles, taking care of his yard and garden, watching all kinds of sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, and spending time with his family. Gary died at the age of 76 on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Hilda Billerbeck; a sister-in-law, Barbara Fish; and a brother-in-law, Darroll Street. Gary is survived by his wife, Pat of Dysart; two daughters, Tina (Nicki) Smith of Center Point and Julie (Troy) Warschkow of Iowa Falls; a son, Stacy (Kelli) Billerbeck of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Madison and Mason Warschkow and Hunter and Carter Anderson; a sister-in-law, Peggy Street; and a brother-in-law, Paul Fish.
