Gladbrook Trees Forever hosted an Emerald Ash Borer workshop at Peace Church, July 31. Topics covered by the four speakers were ash tree identification, common tree pests of Iowa, emerald ash borer, chemical treatments, quarantined areas, and replanting a diverse species of trees. Pictured speakers left to right: Trees Forever Field Coordinator Meredith Borchardt, DNR Urban Forester Emma Hanigan, Iowa State University Extension Entomologist Dr. Mark Shour, and Department of Agriculture Entomologist Mike Kintner. Dr. Shour later commented, "It was one of the best meetings we've had for EAB in a small community. Thanks for permitting us to come to Gladbrook."
