Joshua Luke Carroll, 28, Traer pleaded guilty to a series of car burglaries in residential areas of Traer which occured on June 3. Carroll admitted to two counts of 3rd degree burglary, a charge of attempted 3rd degree burglary and a charge of possession of prescription drug without a prescription. On the burglary charges he was sentenced to suspended two-year prison terms and fines totaling $1,250 were also suspended. Carroll was ordered to reside in a community correctional facility for up to 365 days. On the attempted burglary and prescription charges he was fined $315 on each count and sentenced to foru days in jail with credit for four days already served. Two additional charges of 3rd degree burglary were dropped. Carroll was charged by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Jon Rogers. Gareth Robyn Morgan, 38, rural Tama, pleaded guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon. He was sentenced to 60 days in jial with credit for any time already served and fined $625. He was also ordered to pay any victim restitution. Morgan was charged on June 25 with assaulting the victim by pushing her against a wall and chasing her with a butcher knife at a residence in the 500 block of Red Earth Drive, rural Tama. The charge was filed by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Joel Hols. Kassi Rae Akeens, 35, rural Tama pleaded guilty to 1st offense possession of a controlled substance, marijuana. She was sentenced to two days in jail and fined $315. Her driver's license was revoked for 180 days. Akeens was charged at Kwik Star in Toledo on Oct. 23, 2013, by Toledo Police Officer Andrea Young. Richard Darrel Steveson, 24, rural Toeldo, pleaded guilty to carrying weapons. He received a deferred judgment, was assessed a $625 civil penalty and placed on supervised probation. He was directed to pay a $300 Department of Correctional Services supervisory fee. Steveson was charged on June 8 when a loaded pistol was found in the door pocket of his car when he was stopped by an Iowa State Trooper. Court records state Steveson had a valid non-professional permit to carry a firearm but was intoxicated which makes the permit invalid. the charge was filed by Toledo Police Officer Dan Quigley. Jason Thomas Weida, 44, Traer, entered a written guilty plea to 2nd offense public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail with credit for time alread served and fined $315 on the intoxication charge. He was fined $65 and assessed court costs for disorderly conduct. Weida was charged on June 1 in a n alley between 1st and 2nd streets in Traer by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Casey Schmidt.
