The danger and tragic consequences of refrigerators in which children playing have been trapped inside is addressed in a Dysart city ordinance which prohibits leaving the refrigerators out of doors unattended. A 20-year-old Dysart man admitted to doing so and has been fined in Tama County Magistrate Court in Toledo. Austin Michael Thompson, 20, who had addresses of Tama Street in Dysart and currently the Black Hawk County Jail in Waterloo listed in court records, was fined $148 by Magistrate Ann Kuhter. The charge was filed by Dysart Police Chief James Barber on April 1.
