Beverly Miller will be on hand for a book signing at Serendipity by deb in Gladbrook on Friday, May 23. The event will take place from 2 to 5 PM. The new book is “Wilderness Retreat - A Hook Without Bait”. She said, “This book is written in first person and I’ve never done that before. It is kind of a mystery, with lots of humor.” The book takes place at a resort in Minnesota with the owners treating guests like old friends. The mystery apparently revolves around a well dressed guest who looks like a fisherman and goes out to fish all day - but everyone knows that is not what he does. But what does he do? Beverly’s other two books include, Inn At Willow Creek and Through the Door Half Open. When asked if there is a possibility of this becoming a series, Beverly answered, “I have thought about it, but I want to see what the reaction is to the book. I have already started on a new one. I just need feedback on this one.” She is a native of Conrad and says she liked to write in junior and senior high and just always wrote for herself. Then she ventured to do one book and now there are three. She added, “I do not do this for the money, it is just for my enjoyment.” Beverly says, “I will have all three of my books available at the signing. I will also give a discount on that day only.” Seven years ago Beverly and her husband, Marion, moved from Gladbrook to a little cabin in the Ozarks not too far from Branson, MO. They are parents of Brett Miller and his wife, Beth, and Jodi and husband, Jim Stoakes. Grandchildren include: Justin and wife,Anna, Hannah, Katie, Evan, Emily, Ellie and Eric - all of Gladbrook. If you cannot make the book signing the book may be ordered from Amazon or purchased at Barnes and Noble.
