GMG Students at the Garwin Campus held a Food Pantry Contest. NHS President Mackenzie Burt chose the event as her president’s agenda. The goal was to raise money for the Marshall and Tama County Food Banks. GMG junior and senior high students were divided into 20 advisory groups. The groups were challenged to donate coins - no paper - for one week to win a pizza party topped off with brownies and hot fudge. Daily totals for each group kept the race exciting. A total of $885 was collected. The total was rounded to $900 with a check issued to each county for $450. High School advisory group winners were: First place - Mr. Spurlin - $112; Second was Mrs. Marshall with $63 and Third was Mr. Goings with $60. The Junior High did a fantastic job. Winners included: First to Mrs. Rodgers - $125; Second to Mrs. Barloon - $101 and Mrs. Jenn Boerm with $74 came in third. NHS President Mackenzie Burt is pictured presenting the check for $450 to Mrs. Shirley Delfs of the Northwest Tama County Food Bank.
