The Garwin Modern Homemakers met Tues., March 11 at the home of Verna Stamp. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag led by Vice President Vivian Le Vier. President Kathy Thurston was absent because her husband was in the hospital in Ames. Vivian shared “Warning” by jenny Joseph. Roll call suggested by Donna Tichy “How is the road by your place?” was answered by eight members. The minutes of the February meeting were approved and the treasurer’s report given. Dues were paid by one member. Donna read a letter from Judy Beane. Vivian closed the meeting with wisdom from Bette Davis “Old age is no place for sissies.” Another “White Elephant Exchange” provided many laughs and a fun time. The April 8th meeting will be at Elaine Upah’s with a guest speaker, Shirley Lewis will have roll call. Verna served a lovely lunch at a table decorated with a St. Patrick’s Day theme.
