Tama County Supervisors met Monday morning, March 10, to discuss the Budget Amendment with the hearing at 10:00 a.m. The budget amendment was published in the paper inviting anyone interested to attend the meeting. No one was present for the hearing. A resolution was passed to approve the budget amendment, which shows $721,458.00 in revenues set aside for special items. In this amount is the money the Conservation Department has set aside for future improvements. Another proposed current amendment would be for roads and transportation in the amount of $250,000.00. Anyone with questions or concerns about the amendments may call the county auditor’s office at 641-484-2740, for information. The regular budget hearing is set for 10:00 a.m. next Monday, March 17 in the supervisors room. Anyone interested can attend this meeting and ask questions. County Engineer Lyle Brehm told supervisors if weather permitted they would soon be starting to haul gravel. Brehm says he doesn’t want to start on gravel hauling while the blades for snow removal are still on the trucks. Hopefully the blades can be removed very soon. Claims for the past week approved for payment came to $125,671.60.
