Threat on Facebook draws sentence Before judge Marsha M. Beckelman in Tama County District Court in Toledo: Kevin Kyle Kroeger, 22, addresses of Toledo and Garrison, pled guilty to 1st degree harassment. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail with all but one day suspended and credited for the day already served, fined $625, placed on supervised probation and directed to pay the $300 supervisory fee. Kroeger was charged on June 26, 2013 for allegedly threatening on the social media site Facebook “to burn the victim’s house down with everybody in it” if the victim did not return Kroeger’s ipad device. The charge was filed by Tama Police Officer Jamie Youngbear. Paul Richard Albright, 70, Des Moines, entered a written guilty plea to a charge of interference with official acts. He received a deferred judgment, was assessed a $625 civil penalty, placed on self-supervised probation and directed to pay a $300 Department of Correctional Services enrollment fee. Albright was originally charged on Aug. 13, 2013, after allegedly resisting arrest and fighting with arresting officers causing bodily injury to the officers. The charge was filedby Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Matt Wedeking. Victoria Ann Carroll, 30, Anamosa, entered a written guilty plea to 3rd degree harassment. She was fined $130. Carroll was charged on Dec. 2, 2013, after allegedly continuing to call the victim and the victim’s fiance by telephone and landline telephone after being directed to stop by law enforcement. The charge was filed by Tama Police Officer Jason Bina.
