Monday morning at the regular meeting of the Tama County Board of Supervisors, Jerry Witt of Tama was appointed as Tama County Zoning Administrator. Witt now holds the position of County Assessor and will add this position to his assessor’s position. Supervisors felt there was not a problem for Witt to hold both positions. This will go into effect March 1, 2014. The position has been open for a short time since the last Zoning Administrator was let go due to a lack of communication. A resolution was unanimously passed by the Tama County Board of Supervisors supporting reopening the State Juvenile Home in Toledo. The Juvenile Home was closed recently.
