Garwin Modern Homemakers

January 31, 2014
Northern-Sun Print
Nine members met at the home of Vivian LeVier. President Kathy Thurston opened the meeting with a reading “Armed Forces Dictionary”. Minutes of the December meeting were read and had a correction. As written, white elephant sale, should of said, bring item wrapped and Kathy was playing a game to decide which white elephant you would get. December Christmas Luncheon, Pat Ambler also, was one of the hostess. Judy Beane had roll call. Her question was, What was your most memorable snowed in day or snow day from school? Nine members answered. There was no old business. New business, collected 2014 dues from nine members. Kathy closed with another cute reading. Kathy then had the program. We placed the wrapped white elephant packages in the center of the room. Then she gave each of us a number and as she called the numbers we could pick an item, or take some ones away. When each lady had one, we could ask if they wanted to trade. When all was satisfied with what we had, we opened them. It was so much fun, we talked about doing it again sometime. Vivian served a delicious luncheon on a most beautifully set table. February hostess will be Pat Ambler, Program Shirley Lewis, and Roll Call Ethel Lucht.
