REINBECK - A pair of vote-getters in the latest Associated Press boys’ basketball poll squared off on Tuesday night with Gladbrook-Reinbeck getting the best of Jesup - by a lot more than the J-Hawks’ one-vote advantage. Zach Pierce matched his career high with 26 points and Gladbrook-Reinbeck put Jesup away early, rolling to an 87-56 victory in cross-NICL action. Luke Holman and Camden Kickbush contributed 14 points apiece as 10 different players scored for the Rebels (13-2), who secured their fifth straight win. Colton Dinsdale netted eight points, Joe Smoldt added seven and Tyler Eiffler finished with six in the dominant G-R victory. The Rebels led 25-14 after the first quarter, 49-23 at the half and continued to pull away from there. Pierce added a team-leading eight rebounds, Eiffler had seven boards, and Smoldt handed out five assists in the wire-to-wire win. Jesup (11-3) was led by Rodney Ciesielski’s 13 points.
