Tama County District Court Before Judge Mary E. Chicchelly in Tama County District Court in Toledo:

John Daniel Harding, 32, Garwin, pled guilty to two counts of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse and a charge of child endangerment. He was sentenced to suspended two-year prison terms on each charge assessed a total of $1,875 in fines. Harding was directed to register as a sex offender and pay the annual $25 fee for registration and was placed on supervised probation. Harding was charged on July 20 by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Michael Wright. Douglas Edward Cadotte, 40, rural Tama, pled guilty to willful injury causing bodily injury and 2nd offense domestic abuse assault. On the willful injury charge he received a five-year suspended prison term, two days in jail with credit for two days already served, was fined $750 and placed on supervised probation for three years. For domestic abuse assault he received a two-year suspended prison term, was fined $625 and was placed on probation fortwo years. He was directed to complete a Batters Education Program. Cadotte was charged for allegedly assaulting his brother from whom he was seeking to borrow money by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Sgt. Michael German on Oct. 18. Garren E. Davenport, 24, rural Tama, pled guilty to assault causing bodily injury - non-domestic abuse. He was fined $315. Daveport was accused on Oct. 3 of assaulting his girlfriend by jumping on her chest and pushing her onto a bed by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Brian Shimon. Mark Houston Youngbear, 19, rural Tama, pled guilty to a charge of possession of nitrous oxide. He received a deferred judgment, was assessed a $315 civil penalty and placed on supervised probation. He was directed to pay a $300 probation supervisory fee. Youngbear was charged on June 18 at a Meskwaki Bingo • Casino • Hotel room with possessing 18 full canisters of nitrous oxide and another 347 found in his vehicle by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Todd Ruszkowski. Asia Renae Roberts, 19, Toledo, pled guilty to a series of unrelated charges. The pleas and sentences were: a Dec. 20, 2012, charge for 1st offense drunken driving - deferred judgment, $1,250 civil penalty, supervised probation for one year and pay a $300 supervisory fee; April 15 charge of child endangerment - $625 fine and possession of nitrous oxide - $315 fine; April 23 charges of possession of nitrous oxide - $315 fine and possession of drug paraphernalia - $65 fine. The drunken driving charge was filed on U.S. Highway 30 Expressway at County Road T47 by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Ron Pexa; charges of child endangerment and possession of nitrous oxide were filed in the 1500 block of 305th Street by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Jacob Molitor; and the nitrous oxide and drug paraphernalia charges were also filed by Molitor. Jerri Ann Lavendar, 54, Marshalltown, pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. She was sentenced to a two-year prison term which was suspended, fined $625 her driver’s license was revoked for 180 days. She was placed on supervised probation for two years and directed to pay a $300 supervisory fee. She was cited on Sept. 2 for possession of methamphetamine - 3rd offense, by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Mat Wedeking. Alexander Blackdeer Walker Jr., 64, rural Montour, received deferred judgments on two counts of carrying weapons. He previously entered Alford pleas on Oct. 31 to the charges. Alford pleas are not an admission of guilt by recognize it is likely enough evidence exists to gain a conviction in a court of law. He received deferred judgments, was fined $625 on each charge which were suspended and was placed on unsupervised probation. Walker was originally charged with two counts of possession of firearms on school property including a loaded .40 caliber handgun and a loaded, 17 HMR rifle by Tama Police Chief Dan Wilkens. Walker had been employed as a Title VII tutor at South Tama High School and was terminated from the position after the charges were filed. Blake William Blume, 28, Cedar Rapids, admitted violation of terms and conditions of his probation on an assault charge. He was fined $625. Blume failed to appear for scheduled appointments with the probation office according to court records. Renetta Eagle Plume Durnin, 24, rural Tama, pled guilty to a charge of assault and was fined $65. She was cited for assaulting her boyfriend on Nov. 14 in the 300 block of Meskwaki Road by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Detective Jacob Molitor.
