Letter to the Editor-Pat Clausen, President Gladbrook Women’s Club
December 13, 2013
Letter to the Editor: Gladbrook Women’s Club members frequently remark about all the extra effort that many of our citizens provide for our quality of life. In this first Note of Appreciation, we specifically thank our Emergency personnel and Churches for our physical and spiritual well-being. The current fund-raising campaign for the Fire/Ambulance Building reflects how strongly the community appreciates and supports the selfless labor of our Fire and Ambulance volunteers. These dedicated folks have assisted all of us, if not personally, then certainly through our family or close friends/neighbors; none of us are untouched by these strong, capable, and seemingly tireless helping hands. The Churches, not only on Sundays, but several mornings, afternoons and evenings each week, have activities for children, youth, and adults. WOW; Kids Club; Bible Studies; Youth, Women’s and Men’s Fellowships and many more groups/events provide opportunities to join for fun and fellowship. These facilities host so many celebratory gatherings that they are like our second homes. At Christmas time, Angel Trees, Shoe Box Ministries, and Kids’ Shopping Day (this Saturday) allow us all to help others in our community. How fortunate we are to have all these privileges and facilities. Thank you, Gladbrook volunteers and helpers. You make us smile.
