Last night’s (December 9) winter band concert was a huge success. Our students have been working so hard everyday in practices to perfect the songs and bring joy to everyone who attended. To start off the night our brass choir performed the song Christmas Serenade by Clair W. Johnson. Then our concert choir performed Christmas, Here We Come! When you were listening throughout the piece, there were distinct Christmas songs that you may remember, such as Over the River and Through the Woods, Deck the Halls, and Here We Come A-Caroling. Our next song was Home for Christmas. We finished off the night with An Old-Fashioned Christmas. The song consists of the Christmas carols Joy to the World, It Came Upon the Midnight Clear, Christ Was Born on Christmas Day, Silent Night, and Jingle Bells. After the band performed we had the choral performances of the night. Many of our band students were also performing in choir which is a great opportunity to be musically involved and to have a great experience. Much thanks goes out to Mr. Reynolds, our band director. Band members include: Flute Brooke Beenken Clarinet Amy Goettsch, Brittany Yates Saxaphone Slade Wager Horn Cole Goos Trumpet Carley Crozier, Jesse Royer, Alex Thede, Shelby Yates* Euphonium Emily Goettsch Tuba Tyler Wrage* Percussion Dustin Churchwell, Spencer Goos, Jenni Gutknetcht, Deagan Haack, Shalyn Johnston *Seniors include Shelby Yates and Tyler Wrage.
