Before Judge Ian K. Thornhill in Tama County District Court in Toledo: Jacob Daniel Fay, 28, Tama County Jail, Toledo, pled guilty to charges of 2nd degree theft and felony eluding. He was sentenced to suspended prison terms of five years and assessed $750 fines on each charge. He was place on probation for five years to the 6h Judicial District Department of Correctional Services and ordered to reside in a community correctional facility for up to one year. He must also pay the probation enrollment fee and to pay victim restitution. Charges of identity theft, 2nd degree criminal mischief and two counts of eluding were dismissed in the plea agreement. Fay was charged on July 9 following a high speed chase which began east of Tama on U.S. Highway 30 and ended up in a corn field south of Toledo Heights. At the time he allegedly possessed credit or debit cards which did not belong to him. Tama County Deputy Sheriff Bryan Ellenbecker filed the charges. Sherman Scott Gaulden, 45, Tama, admitted violation of terms of probation. He was sentenced to a five year prison term and ordered to remain in custody in the Tama County Jail until bed space becomes available in the OWI 321J Program. It was alleged Gaulden violated probation when he was arrested and charged with domestic abuse and was intoxicated on Oct. 6 by Community Treatment Coordinator Julie Rathjen. Gaulden also pled guilty o assault- domestic abuse in connection with that incident and was fined $365 and sentenced to 30 days in jail and credited with 30 days already served. He was charged with hitting his wife in the back of her head and slapping her face by Tama Police detective Kimberly Schwartz. Sherry Lynn Dawson, 43, Des Moines pled guilty to driving while barred. She was fined $625. Dawson was charged on Aug. 4 in the Tama ATV Park by Conservation Officer John Steinbach. Dayton Lasley Sanache, 20, rural Tama, pled guilty to possession of nitrous oxide to inhale, ingest or breathe and two counts of child endangerment. He received a deferred judgment was placed on probation and directed to pay a $300 supervisory enrollment fee. Sanache was charged on April 154 in the 1500 block of 305th Street and allegedly had control over children at the time by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Jacob Molitor. Tami Renea Robertson, 51, North Liberty, pled guilty to 3rd degree theft. She was fined $625 and sentenced to five days in jail and directed to pay up to $60 daily sheriff's jail fees. Robertson may reduce her fine amount by one-half by performing community service. She was charged with taking a $160 casino voucher while knowing it belonged to another person by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Jacob Molitor.
