Shouse selected for All-State

Aaron Shouse, a Tenor I, has been selected to sing in the chorus at the prestigious Iowa High School Music Association All-State Music Festival.

Shouse is a senior at Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School. He and Shelby Yates auditioned in Hampton for an All-State position. Aaron got recalled to the second audition held before three judges and was selected at that point.

Shouse said, "Only 17percent of the people who auditioned get in. I will join 1,038 All-State members on November 22 in Ames. The concert will be held on November 23 at Hilton Coliseum". IPTV will broadcast the concert on Thursday, November 28 at 7 PM.

He went on to add, "I thank choral director, Mrs. Amanda Bridges and Shelby Yates for supporting and helping me become a better singer."

Shouse is a familiar face in musicals at G-R. He played the Cat In The Hat in "Suessical" and Albert Peterson in "Bye Bye Birdie". This past summer he attended the All State Music Camp at Wartburg in Waverly and a week at the Dorian Music Festival at Luther College in Decorah.

Future goals for Shouse are to attend Luther College and major in music and education.

Parents of Aaron Shouse are Bob and Sara De Berg and John Shouse. Grandparents are Larry and Suzanne Rhinesmith and Jay Dee and Sharon Shouse, all of Gladbrook.
