November 15, 2013
Northern-Sun Print
The Gladbrook Jr. Auxiliary met on Sat., Nov. 9th, at Westbrook Acres. A large group of Juniors enjoyed making crafts with the residents. The Juniors made favors for the December Senior Citizens Dinner which the Auxiliary serves on Dec. 13th in the Festival of Trees. They made very colorful and cute snowmen, reindeer, and polar bear nut cups. The Juniors and the residents cut out the pink and blue angels for the area churches angel trees. Jr. Leader Jeanne Paustian told the Juniors that they were named the best Jr. Unit in the Nation for the previous Auxiliary year. They were thrilled and enjoyed singing their plaque. They also received a plaque for being judged the best Jr. Unit for their Americanism program in the Nation. It is very hard to win one national award let alone two. The Juniors will meet on Wed., Dec. 11th, 6 p.m. at the Memorial Building to practice for the Candlelight Christmas Program they will perform that night. The Juniors and their families are invited to the 6:30 supper after which they will perform their program. Coordinating the program is Jackie Sherman and Cynthia Eggers. Hostessing the November meeting was Melissa Sienknecht and Sherry Scarf.
