On October 24, 2013, twentythree students helped serve sack lunches to area farmers.
As a way to give back to the farmers, the GR FFA members served lunches at the local coops via freewill donation. About 300 sack lunches were handed out for the fundraiser/word for giving back to the community and the remaining sandwiches were given to a food insecure family.
Madeline Mussig said, "It was fun? people really appreciated it. It's a good way for us to connect with farmers in the area." The GR FFA had a great time throwing the annual Bushels of Success fundraiser and hope to keep it around for many more years.
In addition, FFA members have started selling fruit and other catalog favorites. The fruit sales must be sent in before Thanksgiving break. They will arrive the week before Christmas break, making it the perfect holiday gift.. As part of the fundraising season, non-high school members and Mr. Mayes are competing with the GR chapter for sales. If the GR chapter wins, the chapter will be treated to a barbeque supper by Mr. Mayes. If the non-high school members and Mr. Mayes win, they get a fine steak dinner provided by the chapter. Please support the chapter members.
