County Engineer Lyle Brehm says Taylor Construction of New Vienna, Iowa, was the low bidder for a Bridge replacement in Oneida Township in Sections 3 and 10, on230th Street between V and W Avenues. The low bid was for $350,239.75. The Federal Government pays for eighty percent of this amount. Brehm also reported the road department is preparing for snow by getting equipment serviced and ready and otherwise working on maintenance of several places. The Sheriff’s office has had an increase in the billing for the Shield Mobile software used in the sheriff’s office and the squad cars. Sheriff Dennis Kucera says he has the money in other funds for his office to cover this and ask for some to be transferred to cover the cost. The board voted to transfer funds in the amount of $2100 from the Security Services Fund to the Shield Mobile Fund.. Approval was given for authorization of the use of a Credit Card for the Emergency Management office for Mindi Benson, the new director of EMA. Benson came from Urbana to replace Ryan Currens who recently resigned. The County Recorder’s quarterly report was approved. It shows 222 deeds being recorded, 250 Real Estate Mortgages, 27 affidavits, 252 releases and assignments and 324 miscellaneous recordings, plus some other sales, with a total for the quarter coming to $32,904.17. The annual Tama County Vienna Wind Farm Urban Renewal Report shows an outstanding debt of $9,479,071. This is covered by General Obligation Bonds/notes with the principal being $7,450,000 and the Interest $2,029,071. The fiscal year of 2032 is for the last payment. Approval was given for the payments for this year to be made. Claims for the past week to be paid came to $132,147.30.
