On October 4th, three biomed students attended a daylong course, Nursing Action Day, to learn more about Grandview College and nursing. Grandview is known for their elite nursing program. Students explored their beautiful, rustic campus. The tour consisted of their classrooms and dorms. “The tour was very informative. Our guide was knowledgeable about the campus,” describes Alyona Strobehn. After the tour, students followed up to discover small segments of nursing classes. Students took a knack at filling vials, prescribing doses and giving saline doses. The next room was full of Grandview students on a panel. Anyone from the audience could ask a question, and heard great responses from the Grandview students. “ I really got to see what nursing was from nursing students themselves”, said Maddison Wild. They then got to practice nursing field activities such as, washing hands, taking out stitches, and cleaning bed sores. “It was cool to do firsthand nursing activities,” stated Emily Johnson.
