UNI Vocal Festival By: Summer Langenbau On October 6 and 7, 2013, UNI held its annual Vocal Festival. Vocal students from high schools all over Iowa met together to practice songs for All-State Choir. This year Dillon Slingluff, Taylor Jackson, Megan Slingluff, John Glasscock, Chandler Kendal, and Emily McDowell participated. They were accompanied by GMG’s vocal music instructor Mrs. Sheryl Mullikin. This event involved students attending practices for two days; they practiced music on Sunday and Monday and performed it on Monday evening in the Gallagher-Bluedorn Auditorium. They sang selections which they will perform again at the upcoming All-State Choir Auditions. This annual event will be held November 23, 2013 at Iowa State. Auditions will take place October 26, 2013 at Hampton High School. Hopefully, some of our talented musicians will make this prestigious All-State Choir!
