Tama Co. Supervisors By: Joyce Wiese

Friday, October 4th the Tama County Board of Supervisors met in a special session. This was due to the request of a liquor license for the Longhorn Saloon 2, Inc. The liquor license was for a wedding to be held October 5 in Indian Village Township at Our Sacred Place. All the paperwork and insurance was in place. The original paperwork was sent to the City of Montour in error causing the need for this special meeting. All voted aye for the license. On Monday, October 7, the Tama County Board of Supervisors met in regular session, Dan Anderson. Kendall Jordan and Larry Vest, all present. County Engineer Lyle Brehm says shouldering on Highway D65 should be done this week, weather providing. Brehm also told supervisors of damage done to the new asphalt on D65 where a vehicle went through the barricade and left ruts in the new work. Susan Jones presented a utility permit for Fiber Optics work to be done through the Sac and Fox settlement. This was approved. The Tama County Sheriff’s report shows a starting balance of $6480.52 , receipts of $87,997.78, disbursements of $92,117.72, leaving a balance of $2360.58. Claims approved for payment for the past week came to $136,599.08.
