Garwin Public Library-Hello From the Garwin Library

October 4, 2013
Northern-Sun Print
Well things are moving right along, we have the new gutters and some meter work and furnace check-up will be done this week. The cleaning crew will arrive on the 7th of October to clean the basement. Then our work will begin. We have all that shelving from the Ames library to assemble and arrange. Anyone good at putting things together is welcome to help. The football team is going to move the books for us, thank goodness there are 42 players. I’ve picked up DVD’s of “The Fly” and “The Shining” to add to our Halloween selection, also “Igor” and “Scooby-Doo and the Witches Ghost” for the children’s Halloween section. I’ve added at least 20 other DVD’s to our collection plus several Scholastic ones for children age 2 to 6. This is a wonderful way to help your child get a head start on reading. New books: Rose Harbor in Bloom, Saving Laura, Surviving Raine, Take Care Sara, A Street Cat Named Bob, two more Grippando, two by Ann Rule, two by those crazy Duck Dynasty people and many more. I am going to move Saturday mroning movie time to 10:00 a.m. because it is getting hard to find short movies for the children. If anyone would like to donate drinks or puff corn for movie time, the children would appreciate it very much. Tia has offered to make Halloween cupcakes for one of the Saturdays in October and we thank her. I again have to thank all the people who have donated books and money to our library, your help means more than you will ever know. Lola Slingluff, Library Director
