Senior Citizens’ Lunch at Chapel Sept. 13

September 20, 2013
Northern-Sun Print
The Chapel Church Volunteer ladies hosted about 40 Gladbrook senior citizens on Friday, September 13, 2013, at 11:30 pm at their church. Guests were served a lunch of scalloped chicken, corn, cole slaw, tomatoes, rolls, brownie sundaes, and a variety of drinks on brightly fall-decorated tables. The program theme was “Memories.” After singing a song with the same title, Sue Koster read a poem entitled “The Memory Box.” Then, each guest drew a question about our memories from years past. It was fun remembering things, such as “What was your favorite winter activity when you were in your 20s? What chore did you hate most growing up? What is the craziest thing you have ever done?” The next senior citizen’s lunch is Friday, October 11, at the Memorial Building at 11:30 am. Please get reservations to Jeanne Paustian, 473-2802 or home 473-2843. Karen Handorf ended the program by reading the poem, “Old Memories.” It was a delightful time spent renewing friendships and remembering “Way Back When!”
