Dwight Alan Youngbear 27, rural Tama, was sentenced to five days in jail to be be served concurrently on charges of 1st offense drunken driving and 2nd offense possession of marijuana. He was also fined $1,250 on the drunken driving charge. His driver’s license was revoked for 180 days on the marijuana charge. Youngbear had entered guilty pleas earlier on July 11. He was charged on Dec. 9, 2012, in the 400 block of Meskwaki Road for alleged drunken driving by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Michael German. The marijuana charge was filed in the booking room of the Tama county Jail in Toledo on April 29 by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Lucase Dvorak. Daniel Craig Bartling, 39, Tama, was sentenced to concurrent sentences of seven days in jail on charges of 2nd offense drunken driving and 2nd degree harassment. He was given credit for seven days already served. In addition he was fined $1,875 on the drunken driving charge and $315 for harassment, directed to complete drinking driver’s school and to follow any treatment recommended from a substance abuse evaluation. Bartling earlier entered written guilty pleas on Aug. 8. According to the court record, he was charged with drunken driving while operating an all-terrain vehicle on private property at Elm and Dixon streets in Montour on July 17 by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Bruce Rhoads. The harassment charge stemmed from allegedly threatening another person he would return and assault him again. it was filed on May 8 by Tama Police Detective Kimberly Schwartz. Jamie Abdulia Tejardo-Beza, 24, Tama, pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of assault. He received a deferred judgment, was assessed a $65 civil penalty, was placed on self-supervised probation and directed to pay a $300 probation supervisory fee. Tejardo-Beza was charged on Aug. 13 for allegedly striking his live-in girlfriend multiple times on her neck causing pain and red marks. The charge was filed by Tama Police Officer Jason Bina.
