Garwin Public Library-Hello From the Garwin Library

August 23, 2013
Northern-Sun Print
It’s too quiet in here now that school is in session. We had a wonderful summer with the children’s programs and we still have our Saturday morning 10:30 movie. If your children are of school age you can drop them off for the movie. We have had bake sales that netted us $262.85. I would like to thank Tia, Jill, Karen, Jeanie, Pat, Judy, Darcy, Amber, Amy, and myself for all the goodies. This paid for craft items, food snacks and pizza parties for our young readers. A big thank you to Pronto for helping sponsor our pizza parties. Bake sale money also paid for 11 new DVD’s and many books. We now have puzzles, Lego’s, dolls, and other toys for little ones. We have a balance of $85.00 with one bake sale on the 28th of August, please help support our little library, we still need money for juice and popcorn for the movie time. The Gruffalo movies and Room on the Broom are absolutely delightful new DVD’s for the children. We have the Jack Daniels series by J. A. Konrath and if you like something different this series is for you. Horror, comedy and mystery all rolled into one. We have many new Christian Fiction books also, thank you to all who donated. Our garden is still growing and we’ve picked three cherry tomatoes so far. The leaf lettuce did well and the flowers are blooming. Library Director Lola Slingluff
