Athens comes to Gladbrook – Lincoln Community Bible School!
July 22, 2013
Gladbrook – Lincoln Community Vacation Bible School hosted by Salem Church of Lincoln kicked off on Sunday, July 7th. With 46 community children in attendance they discovered and experienced the dangerous journey Paul took. Through “angry mobs”, long journeys, jail time Paul risked a lot to spread the word of God. During the week the kids played Greek games, made crafts, sang songs that shares the message of God everlasting love. All week the children supported an offering through Kid to Kid Connection which sends faith based coloring books to children in India. Each page of the coloring book has a story and a coloring page. So as the kids brought in their offering a crayon was added to their coloring box ending the week with a coloring book of their own. Each participating church had their own colored tube in the narthex of the church, with the congregations getting involved $395.79 was raised total. The church that brought in the most was Salem Church of Lincoln with only $30.33 over the other churches. Thank you to all of the congregations for getting involved with this great way to spread the word of God through the children of the community.
