Gladbrook Women’s Club

July 12, 2013
Northern-Sun Print
The Gladbrook Womens Club held their annual spring fling on June 7th. This was a full day with beautiful weather and 19 members and 1 guest attending, which made the day especially fun. We met at the Methodist Church parking lot and our caravan headed northeast toward Amish territory. Lunch was enjoyed by all at a little restaurant called Inspired in Readlyn and I think that inspired everyone to do lots more shopping as we continued on our journey. We enjoyed the country stores full of the gifts and food items many of us could not resist, purchased baked goods, looked over the beautiful Amish made furniture and many of us decided we had to have more plants and flowers for our gardens. Amish farmers were in the fields planting with their teams of horses, children and women were busy with huge gardens and lots of laundry on the clothes lines. Around 5:00 in the afternoon the weary women returned from their tour of the Amish life style.
