The Gladbrook-Reinbeck School Board has hired Shawn Holloway as their new superintendent. Holloway grew up in Lake City, Iowa and is currently the 7-12 principal at Manson Northwest Webster where he has served for six years. Prior to that he was the K-12 principal at Pomeroy Palmer. He said the G-R position was of interest to him based on similar philosophies between district initiatives compared to his personal education philosophy. When researching the district he said it was easy to become excited about the educational possibilities and felt it was a good fit for him professionally. G-R has many great qualities and has a very progressive mindset. When he came for his 1st interview he said he was very impressed with the communities, the pride and support for the school system was visible throughout. The initial interview was followed up with great focus group sessions this week. Each group was tremendous to visit with and the pride individuals have for their school district is very impressive. Early on that day he knew G-R was a great fit for his family. His salary will be $120,000.
