Drew Alan Mathis, 28, rural Toledo, pled guilty to 5th degree criminal mischief. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail to be served concurrently with sentences handed down in Tama and Black Hawk County district courts. Mathis was originally charged with 3rd degree criminal mischief for allegedly throwing two landscape blocks at the windshield of a car parked in the 500 block of Beautiful Street in Tama. The charge was filed on Dec. 1, 2012, by Tama Police Sgt. Jeff Filloon.

Destan Aliu, 57, Ottumwa, was found guilty by a Magistrate Court of improper use of lanes. He was fined and assessed court costs totaling $300. Aliu was charged on Jan. 30 on US. Highway 63 near Tama County Road E29 by Tama County Sheriff Dennis Kucera.
