Monday morning, May 13, 2013, Tama County Supervisors Kendall Jordan, Dan Anderson and Larry Vest approved a Fireworks Permit for the Gladbrook Corn Carnival being held on June 29, 2013. The Carnival is a yearly event. County Engineer Lyle Brehm reports to the Tama County Supervisors the company doing calcium chloride treatment on the roads will most likely start within a week, depending on weather. Brehm also says they will be replacing a bridge in Oneida Township, east of the Clutier intersection of Highway E29 and V18, about two and one-half miles. Brehm says he has talked to land owner Marvin Dostal about the purchase of some land for this project. Brehm also says the road department is hoping to complete the road blading this week, weather permitting. Claims approved for payment for the past week amounted to $136,307.40.
