Summer Bible School By: Lexie Curry Hey all you kids from 3 years old to 6th grade, do you want to have some summer fun? Why don’t you go to Vacation Bible school! There Is one in Garwin also one in Green Mountain. The Community Bible School will be held Monday-Friday on June 10-14 from 9:00-11:30 AM at the Chapel Church (1597 Abbott Ave. two miles north of bus exchange on Garwin Road). The Community program will be held on Sunday, June 16th, at 10:00 AM at the church. This years theme is “Kingdom Rock” were kids stand strong for god. A registration form will be sent home from school on May 3rd. Please return them to either school office (Attn: Ann Jackson) by May 17th. Parents you may also register them online at http://www.groupvbspro.com/vbs/ez/ChapelKingdomRock. A bus will give round-trip transportation to the Chapel daily. The bus will arrive at Garwin School at 8:30 AM for pick up and noon for drop off. Another bus will arrive in Green Mountain and Balmer Daycare at 8:45 AM and drop off at 11:45 AM. All kids are welcome. Green Mountain United Church of Christ is also hosting a VBS on August 6,7,and 8th. It’s for children ages 3-12. The theme of this one is “Son West Round Up”. There will be lots of crafts and “real horses!” also lots of Bible learning. It goes from 6-8:30 PM. There will also be a community-wide picnic on Friday August 9th at 6:00 PM. GMG Boy’s Iowa Star Conference Victory By: Tyler Thurston On May 6th the GMG boys came out with a victory at the conference meet. They came out with a victory the second year in a row. The highlights of the night were Lucas Catherwood getting 1st in the Shot Put, Brock Fisher getting 1st in the 200 meter dash. In the end, it came down to the team consistently scoring points, so that GMG could pull out a victory. We are very excited about our victory lane. Congratulations, to the GMG men and their triumph.
End Of Forth Quarter by Scott Rockne Here at GMG High School the end of the fourth quarter will be May 30. The teachers last day will be May3. The end of the year is wrapping up nicely and summer is just around the corner. Hopefully, you will have a nice summer, and we will see you all next year.
Girl’s Conference Golf By : Luke Petty The girl’s conference golf meet took place at Dunkerton on May 6th. Shannon Fleming shot a 113, and earned a 5th place finish. Olivia Barritt was second on the GMG team with a 125 earning 18th place. Summer Langenbau landed 20th place right behind her. The girls had a good conference golf meet.
Graduation GMG 2013 By: Seth Egleston The GMG Graduation will be on May 19. at 2:00 P.M Everyone of the GMG community is welcome. That means friends, family and seniors. It will be held in the old gym at GMG High School. Come honor these young adults as they go through their commencement services.
