Monday evening the Gladbrook City Council met in special session for the purpose of purchasing land for a new Gladbrook Fire/Ambulance Building. The 200’x150’ of land was purchased from Steven and Jerri Baumeier and S L Baumeier Company, L.L.C. for $20,000. $15,000 will be paid upon delivery of deed and abstract showing merchantable title and the remaining $5,000 will be paid when Seller has restored the property to a ‘bare lot’ by removing trees and a shed. Funds for the project will come from the Ambulance reserve and the fire department. The buyer agrees to pay for the cost of an abstract of title and to pay for documentary stamps on the deed and for the cost of preparing the deed and easement documents. The City of Gladbrook is soliciting proposals, qualifications and experience from consultants for this project, subject to funding. Interested firms should submit eight copies of their proposal, qualifications and experience along with references to the City of Gladbrook no later than 1 p.m. on May 17th. A special meeting will be held on May 20th to select a consultant.
