April 5, 2013
Northern-Sun Print
Tama County Supervisors Dan Anderson and Larry Vest met Monday morning, April 1, 2013, Kendall Jordan being absent. County Engineer Lyle Brehm told supervisors the road department had planned to haul 15,000 ton of rock this spring, but have increased this amount to 26,000 ton. Brehm says every spring it takes a lot of rock due to the soft shoulders from the winter weather, but the county hauls rock the entire year in certain areas. The rock is being hauled by contracted haulers and is being hauled in general areas of the county not in one specific area. It takes about three weeks to get the rock hauled. Brehm told Supervisor Dan Anderson there was fifty miles of road needing rock in the southwest corner of the county. Brehm also told supervisors bids and plans for asphalt work on T47 in the northern part of the county and E29 from Garwin to Highway 63 are now coming up. These bids will be due on Tuesday, April 16 at 10:00 a.m. The work is planned to be done yet this summer. Claims for the past week came to $108,678.30Tama County Supervisors Dan Anderson and Larry Vest met Monday morning, April 1, 2013, Kendall Jordan being absent.
