She is the daughter of Greg and Lori DeSauliniers, Marshalltown. She is a long time member of the Garwin Junior Auxiliary. She is a junior at Marshalltown High School. 30 yrs. ago March 25, 1983 The Garwin Roughriders were Runners-Up in the Class 1A Iowa State Boys Basketball Tournament at Vets Auditorium in Des Moines on Saturday. Team members are: Brad Mitchell, Curt Yilek, Kurt Boerm, Wade Welton, Doug Minnich, Joe Hlas, Rick Peshel, Mike Upah, Brian Thurston, Mike Gaskill, Martin Upah, Todd Nielsen, Brian Bovenmyer, Doug White, and Jeff Koester, manager. 40 yrs. ago March 30, 1973 Funeral services will be held Friday, March 30, 1973, at the Garwin St. Boniface Catholic Church for Harold Halverson, 57, who passed away at his home in Gladbrook, from a heart condition. Miss Donna L. Martin of rural Garwin and Miss Ann J. Sharp of rural Gladbrook, seniors at Garwin Community High School visited with Iowa Senator Harold E. Hughes Wednesday, March 21, during a portion of their visit to the nation’s capital as participants in the 1973 Presidential Classroom for Young Americans. While in Washington, Miss Martin and Miss Sharp toured the White House, the Supreme Court, and the U. S. Capital, visiting a number of Congressional offices. Miss Sharp is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Sharp of Rt. 2, Gladbrook. Miss Martin is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Denzel Dwayne Martin of Rt. 1, Garwin. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Greve of Gladbrook are the parents of a son, Eric Owen, born Saturday, March 24. The little lad weighed 8 lbs. 13 oz. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John Diehm of Waterloo and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Greve of Gladbrook. 50 yrs. ago March 29, 1963 Paul C. Jindrich of Gladbrook has been appointed a certified rifle instructor it was announced this week by the National Rifle Association of America. The new top ranked instructor passed a specified series of tests and served a prescribed period of time in training activities before receiving certification. 60 yrs. ago March 27, 1953 Supt. W. W. Murren announced today that he has resigned his position as Superintendent of the Gladbrook Consolidated School, effective at the close of the current school year (1952-53). Mr. Murren has served as head of the local school for the past eleven years. 70 yrs. ago March 26, 1943 Fire of unknown origin caused damage estimated at $75 to $100 Thursday afternoon at the Ross James home southwest of town. The fire was in the basement and was put out by the Gladbrook Fire Department. Most damage was caused by smoke. 80 yrs. ago March 31, 1933 The Diamond Oil Co. began the erection of a gas station on the Brunn property just west of the underpass on road No. 96. the first of the week which will be under the management of the Clemann boys.
