Richard “Ed” Rowe, 70, of Gladbrook, IA passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services were Monday, March 25, 2013, at the Peace United Church of Christ, in Gladbrook. Visitation was from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a 6:00 p.m. Masonic service, Sunday, March 24, 2013, at the Gladbrook Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery in rural Gladbrook. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonfhs.com Ed was born June 20, 1942 to Marvin and Leona (Kimball) Rowe in Lennox, IA. He graduated from Tama High School as valedictorian. He then attended electronics school. Ed started with Gethmann Construction at $3.65 an hour as a shop helper under his father who was a mechanic. He continued his employment for Gethmann Construction eventually working as a Fabrication Manager. Ed was united in marriage to Jodi Sager on August 30, 2003. Ed was the former mayor of Gladbrook. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the El Kahir Shrine Temple Oriental Band. Ed will be missed by his wife; Jodi, a son; Doug (Andrea) Rowe of Gladbrook, a daughter; Sharry (Heath) Johnson of Marshalltown, six step children; Tisha (Mike) McDowell of Marshalltown, Jeff (Pat) Hasselman of Marshalltown, Jolene Sager of Haverhill, IA, Linda (Mike) Thompson of Iowa Falls, Robert Sager of Marshalltown, Richard Sager of Marshalltown, twelve grandchildren, three sisters; Karen Staker of Marshalltown, Linda (Loran) Frericks of Gladbrook, Sue Cakerice, of Conrad, a brother, Gary Rowe of DesMoines, and his mother and father in law, Larry and Bev Peshel
