Joshua Robert Weiermann, 19, rural Chelsea pled guilty to 3rd degree arson in a fire which burned an unoccupied house at 3440 G Ave., on May 13, 2012. He also entered a guilty plea to being an accessory after the fact in connection with a grass fire at Duffus Landing on 380th Street which occurred on March 18, 2012. Weiermann, a Chelsea firefighter, was accused of being an accomplice to Tama firefighter Justin Lee Anderson in at least some of a series of fires set intentionally in the Tama area from March to May of last year. Weiermann was sentenced to six days in jail to be served concurrently on each charge and credited for six days already served. He was also fined $625 on each count. He will also be responsible to pay victim restitution the amount of which is to be determined within 30 days. Six counts of 2nd degree arson were dismissed. Anderson pled guilty to three counts of 2nd degree arson and two charges of 3rd degree arson on Dec. 14 in Tama County District court. He received suspended prison and jail sentences and was placed on probation. Scott Duane Mumby, 42, Belle Plaine, pled guilty to 3rd offense drunken driving and driving while license revoked. For drunken driving he was sentenced to five years in prison with all but 30 days suspended, fined $3,125 and placed on probation for three years. His driver’s license was revoked for six years. On the license charge, Mumby received a 30-day jail sentence to be served concurrently and was fined $1,000. He was charged on Oct. 16, 2012, at 380th Street and X Avenue by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Trevor Killian. Chad Everett Green, 34, Toledo, pled guilty to a charge of assault and was fined $65 and directed to pay victim restitution. A charge of 4th degree criminal mischief was dismissed in a plea agreement. Green was originally charged on Dec. 25, 2012, with domestic abuse assault and breaking an X box by Toledo Police Officer Dan Quigley. Sheryl Ann Arp, 43, Brooklyn, iowa, pled guilty to 3rd degree theft. She was granted a deferred sentence and directed to pay a total of $678 restitution to Twin Town Liquor, Toledo. Arp was accused of writing a bad check for the amount to the store on June 7, 2012, by Toledo Police Officer Brian Randall. Prentiss R. Wolf III, 25, Tama, pled guilty to charges of 4th degree criminal mischief and assault. He was fined a total of $380 and directed to pay victim restitution of which the amount is to be set within 30 days. Wolf was charged with throwing rocks at a residence in Tama breaking a sliding glass and bathroom window by Tama Police Officer Jason Bina on Dec. 8, 2012. He was cited in a County Attorney’s Information for domestic abuse assault during the same incident. Wolf was also found in contempt of court after admitting violation of terms of probation. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail with credit for 10 days already served.

Amanda May Jensen, 19, Toledo, did not appear for court and was adjudged guilty of 5th degree theft for taking $50 from a cash register at the Meskwaki Bingo • Casino • Hotel. Fine and court costs totaling $148 were assessed. Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police filed the charge. Joanna Dawn Akeen, 28, Toledo did not appear for court on a charge of driving while license suspended. She was adjudged guilty and assessed fine and court costs totaling $465. Toledo Police filed the charge.
