Monday morning, February 11, 2013, Tama County Supervisors Kendall Jordan, Larry Vest and Dan Anderson noted anniversaries of employees for their years of employment. Certificates were presented. From the Assessors office certificates were for Jerry Witt 5 years and Kerry Kucera 15 years of service. County Auditors office was Michelle Nelson 5 years. Treasurer’s office was Elizabeth Young 5 years and Shirley Ridpath 25 years. County Attorney’s office was Ronda Burnes 20 years. Jailers were Mary Luann Kithcart and Debbie Roberts for 10 years and Jean Sieck 5 years. Landfill was Nancy Haines for 15 years. Road Department included Vernon Zmolek 40 years, Loren Zmolek ( retired) 35 years, Loren Knoop and Kevin Pecenka 30 years. Michael Meek 25 years and Timothy Martens 10 years. Veteran’s Administration, Elizabeth Ledvina 10 years, Tiffany Richard-Dammann 5 years. Conservation, Ronald Dolash 15 years. Public Health Kathryn Fehr 30 years, Joyce Legg 25 years, Beth Morrison and Karla Hala 5 years. Emergency Management was Juliana Vokoun and Jackie Lasley 15 years, Julie Hoskey, Anna Scarboro and Laura Schultz 5 years. County Engineer Lyle Brehm says the Vienna Wind Farm has now settled for damages done in their work to put up windmills. A meeting was held with Mid American to make an assessment of needs with the cost of rock from the quarry and the cost of contract haulers . Damages amounted to $32,405. Therefore the settlement for the construction has been taken care of. Brehm also told supervisors they were hauling rock only in hazardous areas at the present time. Rock hauling over the county will start soon. Monday, March 4, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. has been set for a public hearing of the Fiscal Year 2014 budget to be held in the Tama County Board of Supervisors meeting room. Due to Presidents’ Day falling on Monday the 18th, Supervisors will hold their regular meeting on Tuesday, February 19th. Claims for the past week came to $149,342.38.
