Jodie Landt Volunteers for Superstorm Sandy Clean-Up In New York

PELLA-Jodie Landt, a native of Garwin, Iowa majoring in psychology at Central College, volunteered in the clean-up of Superstorm Sandy in the hardest hit area, Staten Island, along with other areas from Dec. 13 to Dec. 19. Nick Rohner, worship/ministry team coordinator, accepted the challenge as leader and brought along 10 Central students to assist him. The group hosted soup kitchens, distributed meals and sorted supplies for hospitals. In addition, the group worked with Project Hospitality, which feeds the hungry, shelters the homeless and cares for people with HIV/AIDS. Central College is a residential liberal arts college dedicated to the education of 1,500 undergraduate students.
