Neva Rose (Ehrig) Petersen, 83

Neva Rose (Ehrig) Petersen, 83 of Gladbrook, IA left this earth on Saturday, January 19th, to join her Lord Jesus Christ after a brave battle with cancer. She was born August 8th, 1929 in rural Dinsdale, IA. Daughter of Ernest and Emma (Raum) Ehrig. She married Walter William Petersen  June 15th, 1957. Neva graduated from Dinsdale High School; then graduated from Iowa Teacher’s College, Cedar Falls. She taught elementary school in a number of rural Iowa Schools before marrying and starting her family. In addition to raising three children, she was a partner to her husband Walter operating the family farm.  She was an active volunteer in the community and as a member of Salem Church of Lincoln. Survived by: Two sons, Douglas Walter Petersen of Gladbrook, William Ehrig Petersen (Crystal) of Gladbrook; one daughter, Sara Lynn Quarles (David) of Lee’s Summit, MO; four grandchildren, Jacob, Taylor and Levi Petersen all of Gladbrook, and Bryan Quarles of San Antonio, TX. Preceded in death by: Her husband, Walter. Services: 2PM on Friday, January 25th at Salem Church of Lincoln, preceded by an hour of visitation. Memorials: Salem Church of Lincoln, and Cedar Valley Hospice. Neva was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and playing bingo with her friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
