“TIME-OUT” with Coach Bailey

Tuesday January 15th the Comets of BCLUW came to town for our second meeting of the year. In December we had won a hard fought battle on their floor by 7 points. This was a different story as the Rebels jumped all over the Comets and finished going away by the score of 86-33. This team continues to play hard and compete night in and night out. Because of this hard work they continue to improve from game to game. Freshman Hayley Weber scored a career high 20 points to lead all scorers in this game. Emily Snider finished with 17, Erin Wentzien had 13, Hanna Christopher 8, Nicole Adair 7, Britney Keller 6, Taylor Flamme 6, Ellie Stoakes 4, Kyleah Dugan 3, and Bailea Evenson 3.

Grundy Center On Friday we traveled to Grundy Center to play the Spartans. The Spartans won a very fast paced game by the score of 81-63. Even though we lost this game I thought the girls again showed improvement. What I really liked was that they never quit working and they played with confidence and battled to the final buzzer. . We have 10 kids in our rotation right now and every single one of them is contributing. This kind of effort will pay dividends in the future. Emily Snider finished with 17 points for the game. Erin Wentzien tallied 12, Britney Keller 9, Hayley Weber 9, Ellie Stoakes 8, Hanna Christopher 5, and Nicole Adair 3.

Union The next night Union came to town and completely dictated the pace of the game. The Rebels were unable to get anything going offensively as Union did not allow us to get very many fast break opportunities, and when they got back their ? court defense totally shut us down. I give them credit they are a very good team but I didn’t think we showed up tonight ready to play! In the end when we don’t compete and play with passion that is the coach’s fault. The final score was 67-36. Emily Snider scored 7, Nicole Adair 6, Taylor Flamme 5, Ellie Stoakes 5, Hayley Weber 4, Hanna Christopher 4, Bailea Evenson 3, and Britney Keller 2.
