The UMW Christmas luncheon was held on December 19, 2012.  RoseMary McKinney, Mary Appelgate, Kathy Herink, Delores Matney and Barb Strohbehn hosted the Christmas event for 22 ladies.  The tables were beautifully decorated for the holiday and each guest received a jar of RoseMary’s delicious homemade pickles.  The delicious lunch was reminiscent of our grandmother’s and RoseMary shared some grandparent humor. June Klinefelter started the day with a short Christmas reading and prayer. Martha Gamble presented the program and devotions “She wrapped Him in swaddling clothes”.  Martha first read Christmas scripture and them each guest shared memories of their quilt. We are still saving postage stamps; the stamps can be given to Joyce Bruene and she forward them to the group.  Campbell soup labels can also be saved for Bidwell. Barb Strohbehn sent 27  beautiful homemade Christmas cards to the shut-in of our church. A handmade baby quilt was presented to the Surber’s great grandson at his recent baptism. Our next meeting will be April 17, 2013. Joys and Concerns: Everyone was asked to remember, Mavis Nelson, Jodi Betts and Russ White in our prayers.  Lucy thanked everyone for the prayers for her granddaughter Becky. Three beautiful pictures have been added to the Fellowship Hall – Two pictures have been given by Joan Raum and one was given by Cathy Gethmann. Rachel Koester received the door prize for the most grandchildren and great grandchildren. The day closed with the UMW Purpose.
